How much storage space do I get?

4Backup gives you unlimited storage, you can upload as much data as you like!

How do I find my username and password?

Your username will be the ask4 username that you created when you signed up with ‘@ask4.co.uk’ at the end of it.

Your password is the ask4 password that you set up when you created your account.

How secure is my data?

Your data is stored across multiple locations in custom-built data-centres that use military grade encryption technology to ensure that your data is safe and secure when it is backed up with 4Backup.

In addition, 4Backup supports SSL transfers between your computer and the backup servers, ensuring that you data is encrypted whilst being uploaded or downloaded.

What happens if I delete a file from my PC?

If you delete a file on your PC  it will be moved to the Recycle Bin in your 4Backup portal. It will stay in the Recycle Bin for at least 30 days, so you can restore it quickly and easily. The Recycle Bin can be accessed from your 4Backup portal, go to the Backup tab and the Recycle Bin can be found in the left hand navigation window.

Can I use more than one computer with 4Backup?

Yes. You can use as many computers with your 4Backup account as you like, each computer will appear in the Backup tab on the 4Backup portal.

What operating systems are supported by 4Backup?

4Backup will run on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. There is software available for Mac, but this is currently a tech preview and all features may not work fully.

The 4Backup portal can be used by most of the major web browsers, including Internet Explorer 7 or later, Firefox 2 or later, Google Chrome and Safari 3 or later.

What are the minimum system specifications for 4Backup?

  • 1 GHz Intel or equivalent CPU
  • 512 MB of RAM
  • Windows XP/Vista/7/Server 2003 or Later
  • Broadband Internet Connection
  • Internet Explorer 7 or higher/Firefox 2.0 or higher/Google Chrome/Safari
  • The latest versions of Java and Flash
